Abstract: Describes how to use the serial numbers included with RAD Studio

The first step in deploying IBLite or InterBase ToGo Test Deployment is contained in your order confirmation email you receive upong purchase of your product. It says:

This Embarcadero product also entitles you to a free IBLite for Android and iOS database deployment license. To activate your deployment license, go to https://reg.codegear.com/srs6/activation.do and enter the IBLite for Mobile serial number above and

Registration Code: 737479.

For more information on IBLite, see http://embt.co/IBDocs.

This Embarcadero product also entitles you to InterBase XE3 ToGo Test Deployment license on Android, iOS, Windows and OS X for testing purposes.
In order to activate your Test Deployment license please go to: https://reg.codegear.com/srs6/activation.do
and enter the serial number above and Registration Code: 737479.

A common mistake in registering IBLite or InterBase ToGo Test Deployment is in using License Manager included with your RAD Studio install. Lisense Manager only applies to licenses installed on your local computer. In that you are trying to use these license on a different computer/device, License Manager does not do what is required.

Now that you've registered your IBLite and InterBase ToGo Test Deployment serial numbers, you might be asking "How do I use them?" What you need to do is save the activation file you got from registration as reg_iblite.txt or reg_ibtogo.txt to your ibredist folder, which is almost certainly C:\Users\Public\Documents\InterBase\redist\InterBaseXE3. Once your files are saved there, use the Deployment Wizard in RAD Studio to deploy InterBase ToGo. To access the RAD Studio Deployment Wizard and include InterBase ToGo, select Project | Deployment, then click the small icon for add featured files.

The Deployment wizard will make sure you have all the files you need and your IBLite or InterBase ToGo Test deployment license as well.

A small discussion of IBLite vs InterBase ToGo Test Deployment is warranted here. IBLite works on mobile platforms only. It is free, The activation file you get may be deployed over and over to as many machines as you want. So, once you get 1 activation file you never need get a new one. IBLite allows only 1 transaction per connection and has some other technical limitations.

An InterBase XE3 Test Deployment activation file works for 3 months at a time. After 3 months must register and get a new one. It is for testing a deployment, but not for full deployment. It works on all platforms (Mobile, OSX, Win 32, Win 64). The technical limitations that IBLite imposes are lifted.

This information above is also covered in the RAD Studio documentation here.
