Resolving "BDS has stopped working" Installation Hang

In order to resolve the issue, try the below suggestions:

  • Disable your Anti-Virus Software and retry the installation.
  • If you are still getting the error, open a windows console, run msconfig, select diagnostic startup, reboot and retry the installation. Note that diagnostic startup turns off many things, most notably internet connectivity. Therefore, in this case, you will need to use the ISO Image installer:

  • If none of the above suggestions solve the issue, follow the below instructions:
  1. - Run the installation until you get to the “Select Setup Language” window:

  1. - Open a windows explorer, type %TEMP% into the Search box and press Enter. This will open your TEMP folder:

  1. - Open each ‘mia’ folder (mia1, mia2, etc.) and delete the ETTracker.dll file if it is present.
  2. - Continue with the installation normally.
