I have some ODBC code, but would like to start using the API. Can I use them
both in the same app?

Yes, you can use both ODBC and native API in the same app.
It is not possible to use the same database connection for ODBC and
the API. You will have to have two separate connections, one for
your API calls, and another for ODBC.
