Installing and Registering Delphi for PHP
Installing Delphi for PHP
- Run install.exe to run the install launcher. The launcher will give you the choice to install Delphi for PHP and InterBase Developer Edition.
- Check the boxes to select the products you wish to install.
- Accept the product license agreement by checking "I accept the agreement". Note: You must accept the agreement to continue.
- Select a destination installation location. The installer suggests a default location. If you want to install to a different folder, click the Browse button and navigate to the desired location.
- Check which components you want installed. If you check the boxes for the database drivers such as MySQL or InterBase, the drivers are copied to your windows\system32 directory. It is recommended that you select these checkboxes if you do not already have MySQL or InterBase installed. When checked, the installer does the following:
- libmysql.dll will match the version in the PHP software directory.
- The InterBase 2007 gds32.dll file will be used rather than the older version in the PHP software directory.
- Select a Start menu folder if you want a different one than the default.
- Specify whether to create a desktop icon.
- Click Install.
Registering Delphi for PHP
The first time you use Delphi for PHP, the Registration Wizard will appear. Follow the steps in the wizard to register the product.
Note: Online registration requires an Internet connection. If you do not have an Internet connection or have difficulties registering, please use the telephone-registration option to reach Customer Service.
Where do I find my serial number for Delphi for PHP?
- If you purchased a boxed product, you will find the serial number on the License Certificate Card located in your product case
- If you purchased the product via electronic software delivery, the serial number will be on your order confirmation screen or in your order confirmation email.
- If you downloaded a trial from the CodeGear web site, you request a serial number by email. You can also go back to http://cc.codegear.com/free/delphiphp to resend your trial serial number.
- If you are installing from a Trial CD, go to http://cc.codegear.com/free/delphiphp to obtain a trial serial number.
Installing and Registering InterBase 2007 Developer Edition
What is InterBase 2007 Developer Edition
InterBase is a high-performance, cross-platform, embeddable database that provides multiprocessor support. Easy installation, automatic crash recovery, and minimal maintenance—together with SQL92 compliance—make the InterBase database a great choice for business-critical embedded and standalone applications.
Important: This version of InterBase is licensed for development use only. Deployment Edition must be purchased separately.
Installing InterBase
If you selected to install InterBase Developer Edition in the install launcher, the InterBase install will begin after Delphi for PHP is installed.
For complete information on installing InterBase, see IBSetup.html in the root directory of the installation CD or in the directory where you unzipped the installation files if your software was delivered electronically.
Note that there are some items in IBSetup.htm that do not apply to InterBase 2007 Developer Edition for Windows, such as the references to the Linux and Solaris editions.
- For Delphi PHP products on CD, make sure the InterBase checkbox is checked in the install launcher and InterBase will be installed. Otherwise run ib_install.exe from the root directory of the CD to install.
- For products delivered electronically, run the InterBase installer ib_install.exe.
- For trial downloads you should download InterBase Developer Edition separately from the CodeGear web site.
Registering InterBase Developer Edition
At the end of the InterBase install process, the Registration Wizard will appear. Follow the steps in the wizard to register the product.
Where is my InterBase license?
- You will find the serial number and authorization key on the License Certificate Card located in your product case for boxed products.
- If you purchased the product via electronic software delivery, the serial number and authorization key will be located in a PDF document in the .zip file that you downloaded
- If you downloaded InterBase Developer Edition from the CodeGear web site, an activation file was emailed to you (not a serial number and key) and you should follow the instructions in that email to activate the product.
Known Installation Issues
Some versions of Windows and Windows Live OneCare may automatically block the Registration Wizard from connecting to the registration server. If that happens, select "Allow" to let the Registration Wizard connect to the Internet, and then select "Retry" in the Registration Wizard to connect to the server and complete the registration process.
Note: For support and installation issues, please contact Support at http://support.codegear.com. Select "Submit an installation case" in the Quick Links section.
